Who are we?
Sideswipe was founded by a passionate team of creatives and business professionals based between Switzerland and France.
Michael Rickwood
Founder
Originally an actor on stage and screen for 10 years after graduating from Drama Centre London in 2001, Michael is very familiar with the acting and filmmaking industry.After seeking new opportunities in 2012, Michael developed deep experience in communications consultancy and business development. During his 12 years experience with Paris based Consultancy Ideas on Stage in which Michael worked for companies all over the world in Development, Tech and Luxury, he also consulted in France’s biggest accelerators where he lent his creative communication and design skills to many founders such as Back Market and Qwant. He has also, been teaching at HEC for 10 years.Michael has been working in the tech space for years now and recently acquired a diploma from Alyra in AI consulting. Michael first passion is film and he conceived Sideswipe in November 2024.
Olivier Depierre
Co-founder
Olivier Depierre, attorney-at-law, LL.M. Banking & Finance and former Trust and estate Practitioner, was one of the first lawyer in Suisse romande, and the first in Geneva, in 2016 to specialise in legal advice on Digital Ledger technologies and cryptocurrencies. Since 2023, Olivier is also a jury member for Alyra, where he met Michael and Gwen.Previously, Olivier notably practiced banking law, financial market law, contract law, company law and criminal law, also as a military investigating magistrate. Her has been an author at the Centre for Banking and Financial law in the University of Geneva since 2013, an academic Centre for which he is also the Founder and co-author of its blockchain lexicon and in which he taught in the field of stablecoins and decentralised finance (DeFi).He has since advised numerous entities and individuals as well as the State of Geneva on the blockchain topic and has given many lectures and public interviews on the matter in the Swiss media.
Gwendoline Monier
Co-founder
Originally interested in film making, Gwen began her career as a real estate agent for seven years where she has extensive experience in sales. This allowed her to better understand customer experience and expectations and strengthen her arguments in win/win business relationships.Passionate about Web3 technology for several years now, Gwen decided to re-train in the field as a Blockchain Consultant at Alyra in order to shift in to decentralised tech projects.In November 2024, during her studies at Alyra, she met Michael, who introduced her to "SideSwipe," leading to a collaboration where tech meets Cinema. She's also a stake-holder in a fintech company based in Senegal where she contributes to marketing and as a blockchain consultant.
